coussens of bexhill takes delivery of terex® Challenger 3160 all terrain crane
ZWEIBRÜCKEN, February 17th, 2015 – Family owned crane hire and heavy haulage specialist, Coussens of Bexhill, has taken delivery of a Terex® Challenger 3160 all terrain crane. It brings to five the number of Terex cranes in the company’s fleet which serves the South and South East of England through five depots across three counties.
Run by Paul and Margaret Coussens, whose grandfather founded the business in 1937, the company is headquartered in Bexhill-on-Sea.
In the 55 t capacity class, with a 50 m main boom, the 3-axle Challenger crane - which carries all of its own 6.8 t counterweight - was chosen for its compact dimensions, maneuverability and best-in-class boom length. Paul Coussens comments: “When other cranes need triple or quadruple reeving, the Challenger does the job with just one or two lines.”
“Another important plus point is the crane’s -5 degree boom incline. It means the operator doesn’t have to work at height to reeve the crane, which represents a significant safety advantage. So too is the Challenger‘s radio remote control system.”
Terex Cranes regional sales manager, Andrew Snow, is delighted to have sold Coussens of Bexhill their first Challenger crane. “It reflects great confidence in both the crane and our after-sales service and support,” says Andrew.
The Challenger joins Terex® AC 30 City, AC 35, AC 40/2L and AC 120-1 all terrain cranes in the Couseens fleet.
