NEW TEREX® AC 500-2 all terrain crane

IS NOW DUNAGEP'S LARGEST CRANE

ZWEIBRÜCKEN, December 18th, 2014 – DUNAGEP, the Danubian Building Machines Servicing Corporation, one of Hungary's biggest crane hire specialists, has taken delivery of its largest all terrain crane - a Terex® AC 500-2. This latest addition to the Dunagep fleet is in the 500 tonne (600 US ton) capacity class with a reach of 144 metres (472.4 ft), compared with the 400 tonne /440 US ton) lifting capacity and 135 metre (442.9 ft) reach of its previous flagship machine.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the company is headquartered in Budapest with subsidiaries in Slovakia and Croatia. Dunagep mainly serves the steel, refinery and petrochemical industries, and the crane will make its lifting debut working in an Hungarian power plant.

Laszlo Szecsenfalvi, chairman, Dunagep comments, "This is a great crane and we had no hesitation in choosing it in preference to other makes. Good transport logistics, quick set-up, long reach and reliability are just some of its many features. It has added a whole new dimension to our product line-up."

Terex Sales Manager, Andreas Schramm agrees, "The AC 500-2 crane will enable Dunagep to accept and undertake work that previously would have necessitated working in conjunction with industry partners. Now they will be in a position to complete these larger projects themselves."

About the Terex® AC 500-2 all terrain crane

With a carrier just 17.1 m (56 ft) long, the Terex® AC 500-2 is the most compact eight-axle crane in its class. A maximum working height of 145.8 m (478 ft) can be achieved with a luffing fly jib. The crane offers enormous power across the full lifting capacity range, through features such as the improved design of the main boom cross-section and the reinforced sideways superlift. The star-shaped outrigger layout helps to provide the stability required. Short setup times and the IC-1 control system's ease of use make for safe crane operations and comfortable working conditions. The carefully thought-out drive design of the crane provides outstanding transfer of engine power, yielding excellent performance on both the highway and the jobsite.
