Martina Moritsch steps down as head of terex tower cranes

Marco Gentilini appointed as Vice President & General Manager, Terex Tower Cranes and Business Integration

FONTANAFREDDA, Italy. March 31st, 2014 – After a successful 28-year career in the tower crane business, Martina Moritsch has announced that she will be stepping down as Vice President and Managing Director, Terex Tower Cranes, effective June 1, 2014. Part of the pioneering family who founded the Terex legacy brand Comedil more than 50 years ago, Moritsch felt the time was right to make a change.

“It was an extremely difficult decision to leave a company that has been such a big part of my family and my life,” says Ms. Moritsch. “However, with the tower crane market in recovery, I believe the time is right for me to step down so a seamless transition in leadership can be made to ensure the continued success of Terex Tower Cranes.”

We sincerely thank Martina and the entire Moritsch family, for years of dedication to and leadership of Terex Tower Cranes,” says Tim Ford, president of Terex Cranes. “The Terex family is very sad to see her leave, as she is an important part of the Terex story. Terex respects her difficult decision to step down and wishes her much continued success in future endeavors.”

Long time Terex Cranes team member Marco Gentilini has been tapped to replace Ms. Moritsch. Gentilini is currently Vice President of Business Integration at Terex Cranes. He will continue to lead integration initiatives for Cranes and broaden his current role to include global leadership of the Tower Cranes business.

In recent months, Terex Cranes has successfully introduced our new regional structure to become easier to do business with and show one face to the customer,” says Ford. “Marco is the right person at the right time to lead the global tower crane business, evaluate how to drive further integration between our tower and mobile crane business, and develop the appropriate integration strategy.”

--continued--

For 13 years Gentilini has served in a variety of capacities for Terex Cranes, including time spent as leader of both the Crespellano, Italy, and Waverly, Iowa, operations. Ms. Moritsch and Gentilini will work collaboratively during a two-month transition period to ensure a smooth, seamless transition of leadership.

Martina is well respected in the tower crane industry and has left some very big shoes to fill, but I look forward to this new opportunity within Terex Cranes,” says Gentilini. “The experience gained and success achieved with the mobile business integration and simplification strategy has prepared me well for this position.”
