Integrated Logistics takes possession of the Terex® AC1000,
the largest and most powerful all Terrain Crane in the Terex Line

Ahmadi, kuwait, November, 2013 – Kuwait based Integrated Logistics recently expanded its fleet and lifting capabilities with the acquisition of a Terex® AC 1000 all terrain crane. Being in the 1,200-tonne (1323-US ton) capacity class, the AC 1000 is the largest mobile hydraulic crane in Integrated Logistic’s 400-crane fleet.

"We needed a high-capacity crane that would offer quick mobilization, even in congested areas, for single-lift jobs," says Mr. Saleh Al Huwaidi, CEO of Integrated Logistics. "We found exactly what we were looking for in the AC 1000 crane. We also selected Terex because they provide responsive service and technical support for our maintenance team."

As the world's largest easy-rigging mobile crane that can be driven on public roads with its standard 50 m (164 ft) main boom attached, the AC 1000 gives this leading heavy lift cargo handling and heavy lifting contractor a mobile crane that is quickly rigged once on-site.

"The markets in which Integrated Logistics operates are highly competitive, and the flexible AC 1000 crane gives the company a competitive edge by offering low transportation costs and short rigging times," says Christian Kassner, international sales manager for Terex Cranes. "Their jobs are often in large, congested areas where a maneuverable crane is a must, and the Terex AC 1000 unit delivers on this as well."

One of the crane's first planned projects for Integrated Logistics is a highway expansion project in Kuwait City. "We will be placing a 200-tonne (220.5-US ton) steel girder in a tandem lift with our Terex AC 500-2 all terrain crane,” says Al Huwaidi. "It will be working close to the city where availability of space is limited, a perfect test for the crane’s capabilities."

About the Terex® AC 1000 All Terrain Crane

The nine-axle Terex AC 1000 is the world’s most powerful all-terrain crane that can travel on public roads with its 50-meter (164-ft) main boom attached. At 20.3-m (66.6-ft) long, the AC 1000 is remarkably compact and maneuverable for a 1,200-tonne (1,323-US ton) capacity class crane. The machine can travel with its main boom on public roads to nearly any location in the world and has the fastest setup times of any crane in its category, thanks to its patented luffing jib erecting system. With its maximum system length of 163 m (534.8 ft), the wide selection of extensions and attachments for the unit have been designed for transportation on standard trailer trucks, eliminating the expensive and time-consuming process of obtaining permits and the requirement of special-purpose vehicles.

The AC 1000 crane is available with a 50- or 100-meter (164- or 328-ft) main boom, which is equipped with a patented, open-nose sheave that makes attaching additional boom segments fast and easy. This delivers short rigging times to reach a 100-m (328-ft) lifting height. In addition, the optional SSL system increases the machine’s lifting capacity for a variety of applications, including general construction, infrastructure, power plants, petrochemical industries, tower crane rigging and erection of wind turbines.

The ergonomically designed crane cab, which can be tilted up to 20°, is equipped with an integrated IC-1 touchscreen control system. This system allows operators to have quick access to important information such as wind speed, wind direction, hook load, rated lifting capacity, reach, boom length, and calculated and actual outrigger loads by simply tapping the screen.

The Terex AC 1000 all terrain crane reaches travelling speeds of up to 80 km/h (49.7 mph). A variable-ratio steering system with active, speed-sensitive, electronically controlled rear axle power steering provides excellent maneuverability and cornering stability.
