Three new Terex® All terrain cranes

FOR Pforzheim-BASED Kranverleih Rothmund

ZWEIBRÜCKEN, September 13th, 2013 – Pforzheim-based Rothmund GmbH crane rental company has taken delivery of a Terex® AC 100, an AC 140 Compact and an AC 250-1 all terrain cranes.

“For nine years we have had a Terex® AC 100 all terrain crane; we have been pleased with its performance,” said general manager Heiko Brückner. “This is why we decided to get a second one,” Brückner added. “We decided for the AC 250-1 because of its performance and its massive 80 meter telescopic boom. The AC 140 Compact factor was, as the name says, the compactness for a crane of this class.”

Michael Zieger, Terex Cranes sales representative, handed over the cranes in Zweibrücken to Heiko Brückner together with crane expert Peter Klumpp and crane driver Achim Teufel. “Great return on investment and great service, that’s why we chose Terex,” said Brückner.

About the Terex® AC 100 all terrain crane

With a carrier length of only eleven meters, the Terex® AC 100 all terrain crane is the shortest five-axle crane on the market. The crane comes with a 50 meter-long main boom as standard, but can reach a system length of more than 83 meters with additional main boom extensions. Its maximum lifting capacity is 85,5 tonnes.

The maximum counterweight is 32 tonnes. The crane can travel with a counterweight of up to 11.6 tonnes while complying with an axle load limit of 12 tonnes, and can also be configured to comply with 10-tonne axle load limits or a total weight of 48 tonnes.

The tilting cab, which has a continuously variable tilting angle of up to 20°, enables operators to work ergonomically. Moreover, the crane stands out thanks to its state-of-the-art engine and drive technologies, which provide it with excellent operator comfort and high fuel efficiency.

About the Terex® AC 140 Compact all terrain crane

The Terex® AC 140 Compact is the most compact crane in the 140-tonne (154.3 US-t) capacity class. Offering high performance in a wider range of applications than other comparable all terrain cranes, the AC 140 Compact crane is particularly well suited to lifting heavy loads in confined areas. Narrower than any other crane in its class, its 11.2-meter (36.6-ft) long, 2.7-meter (9-ft) wide undercarriage, enables access to places other 5-axle cranes simply cannot go. Three outrigger settings (4.5 meters (14.7 ft); 5.3 meters (17.3 ft); 7 meters (22.9 ft)) combined with a maximum lifting capacity of 69.4 tonnes (76.5 US t) at 7-meter (22.9-ft) radius make it possible to access tight spaces and perform heavy tasks usually reserved to 160-tonne (176 US-t) capacity class cranes. Built to carry more counterweight within 12-tonne (13.2 US-t) axle load limitations than higher capacity class cranes, and only requiring one extra transport vehicle instead of two, the AC 140 Compact all terrain crane reduces transport costs to make it conveniently economical to operate.

About the Terex® AC 250-1 all terrain crane

With an 80 m (262 ft) pinned boom, the Terex® AC 250-1 all terrain crane has the longest main boom roadable within a 12 t (13.2 US t) axle load. It features a 113 m (370 ft) maximum system length including up to 36 m (118 ft) extendable swing-away jib. It is also the most compact 6-axle crane and has the most compact working area (outrigger base and tail radius) in its class.
