TEREX CRANES TO EXHIBIT AT VERTIKAL DAYS 2013, UK
Haydock Park, UK, June 6th, 2013 – Terex Cranes announces that it will be attending Vertikal Days 2013, held at Haydock Park, Newton-Le-Willows, Merseyside from 26 to 27 June. Terex will be exhibiting five all terrain cranes on booth n°156/157.
Terex Cranes will exhibit its Terex® Challenger 3180, and AC 140 Compact, AC 80-2, AC 40-2L and AC 40 City all terrain crane models. In addition to displaying the cranes, Terex Cranes representatives will be on hand to meet with customers to explain their comprehensive parts, service and sales support capabilities.
About the Challenger 3180
With a 50-meter (164-ft) main boom combined with a 16-meter (52.5-ft) extension, the Challenger 3180 provides the longest system length in the 60-tonne (66.1 US-t) all terrain capacity class. This includes optional all-wheel steering with drive chain in 6x6x6 configuration and 495/95R25 tires. Fully equipped, including its maximum 12.1-tonne (13.3 US-t) counterweight, the Challenger 3180 also provides the strongest system in the 60-t (66.1 US-t) capacity class, with maximum lifting capacity of 37.9 tonnes (41.7 US t) at 4 meter (13.1-ft) radius. In this configuration, it is still roadable and designed for one-man-operation in countries with 15-tonne (16.5 US-t) axle-load limitations.
About the AC 140 Compact
The Terex® AC 140 Compact is the most compact crane in the 140-tonne (154.3 US-t) capacity class. Offering high performance in a wider range of applications than other comparable all terrain cranes, the AC 140 Compact is particularly well suited to lifting heavy loads in confined areas. Narrower than any other crane in its class, its 11.2-meter (36.6-ft) long, 2.7-meter (9-ft) wide undercarriage, enables access to places other 5-axle cranes simply cannot go. Three outrigger settings (4.5 meters (14.7 ft); 5.3 meters (17.3 ft); 7 meters (22.9 ft)) combined with a maximum lifting capacity of 69.4 tonnes (76.5 US t) at 7-meter (22.9-ft) radius make it possible to access tight spaces and perform heavy tasks usually reserved to 160-tonne (176 US-t) capacity class cranes. Built to carry more counterweight within 12-tonne (13.2 US-t) axle load limitations than higher capacity class cranes, and only requiring one extra transport vehicle instead of two, the AC 140 Compact reduces transport costs to make it conveniently economical to operate.
About the AC 80-2
With a length of 12.11 meters, the Terex® AC 80-2 is the shortest four-axle crane in the 80-tonne capacity class with a maximum load moment of 255 of mt. A powerful 428-metric-hp Daimler engine, together with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission gives the crane outstanding performance. Meanwhile, an independent rear-axle steering system enhances the unit’s high level of maneuverability. Short telescoping times and the ability to telescope large loads (a result of its fully hydraulic boom system) make a compelling argument when this all terrain crane is at work in real-life operations, as does the fact that the crane can travel on public roads—in full compliance with the 12-tonne axle load limit —while carrying 6.8-tonne counterweight and 17-meter main boom extension. The telescopic main boom’s length ranges from 10.9 to 50 meters. Additional options include main boom extensions available with a single-section or double-section jib (with a length of 9.2 meters and 17.6 meters respectively), as well as a 1.20-meter-long assembly jib.
About the AC 40 City
As the most compact unit with a 40-tonne lifting capacity from the City crane series, the Terex® AC 40 City is particularly well-suited to operations that have to be performed in constrained spaces. The crane’s overall height makes it possible to cope with clearance heights as low as 2.99 meters, while a total length of only 8.57 meters and a carrier length of 7.34 meters provides a high level of maneuverability, The three-axle crane’s maneuverability is further enhanced by its independent rear-axle steering. It is allowed to travel on public roads with its maximum system length of 44.2 meters, representing yet another advantage.
The telescopic main boom’s length ranges from 7.80 to 31.2 meters, while the four boom head sheaves are designed for maximum loads of up to 34.4 tonnes. A heavy-lift attachment with an additional sheave, which makes it possible to achieve a maximum lifting capacity of 40 tonnes, is one of the many options available for the unit. Other available options include 7.1-m and 13-m main boom extensions with a folding jib/double fly jib, as well as a three-sheave, 1.2-meter-long assembly jib designed for loads of up to 15 tonnes. Finally, the crane’s standard counterweight weighs 5.45 tonnes.
About the AC 40/2L
Designed for optimum roadability and versatility, the Terex® AC 40/2L all terrain crane features the longest main boom in its category offering a reach of up to 37.4-meters, for a maximum tip height of 47 meters. Combining the advantages of short telescoping times and high load telescoping capacity in all configurations, this highly mobile, 2-axle all terrain crane is capable of lifting up to 40-tonnes at 2.6-meter radius. Equipped with independent rear steering and an easy-to-operate counterweight unloading system - to make it simple for users to spread the load equally across each axle - the AC 40/2L offers driving speeds of up to 80 km/h.
