The new Terex® Powerlift 1000 crawler crane draws
from global experience to offer best-in-class features

SHANGHAI, November 27, 2012 – The new 55-t capacity class Terex Powerlift 1000 crawler crane unveiled at Bauma China features a compact design and best-in-class reach and lifting capacity. Drawing from more than 100 years of experience and a collaborative effort of global Terex engineers, the new Powerlift 1000 increases capabilities and efficiencies for lifting contractors throughout China, Russia and India.

“When we combine the efforts, talents and experience of our team members from around the world, great outcomes, like the Powerlift 1000 are possible,” says Ken Lousberg, president of Terex China. “Built in our Jinan, China facility, the crane offers the most compact design in its class for fast and efficient transport without sacrificing lift or reach capabilities. This is just one example of how Terex Crane’s global presence and wealth of applications experience delivers value and competitive advantages for our customers.”

Offering a maximum 55-t lifting capacity and 203.5-mt load moment, the new Powerlift 1000 offers the highest capacity performance throughout its entire work range among its capacity class. This new lattice boom crawler crane offers up to a 55-m main boom and a maximum 61-m system length. Customers can equip the Powerlift 1000 with 6-, 9-, 12- or 15-m fixed jibs, which offer 10° and 30° offsets to increase versatility at the jobsite. “Our new Powerlift 1000 offers the longest main boom and fixed jib reach among competitive cranes,” continues Lousberg.

Its self-rigging design boom affords fast and easy onsite setup. Class-leading high/low lifting speed settings of 124/73 m/min give operators the flexibility to match line speed to the load and increase lifting efficiency.

At only 3-m wide, the Terex Powerlift 1000 is the most compact crawler crane in its class, boasting a 10% narrower structure than its closest competitor. It is the only crane within its class that can fit through the narrow toll-ways that contractors in China must go through, saving customers transport time and money. Even with its convenient narrow design, the crane sacrifices nothing with regards to lifting performance on the job.

This new Terex crane boasts the same Terex cab design found on similar cranes operating worldwide. Using operator feedback as the foundation and supported by world-class ergonomics experts from the automotive industry, the new cab conveniently positions the controls for efficient operation, while offering more inside space for operators. Large windows and a glass rooftop combine to improve visibility of the work area. A heater and air conditioning system with individual outlets, ergonomic multi-adjustable seat with lumbar support and premium stereo system provide a comfortable work environment to boost operator productivity.

The Terex Powerlift 1000 crawler crane is powered by a 155 kW six-cylinder diesel engine that meets China’s national III emissions standards. Walkways with handrails and antiskid plates and a roof guard increase operator safety. Conveniently located service points on the crane’s drivetrain and upper structure reduce maintenance time and increase uptime.

The Powerlift 1000 will be prominently displayed at the Terex outdoor exhibit space C.06–C.09 location at Bauma China held November 27-30, 2012, in Shanghai, China. Contractors will find that this crane excels in heavy lifting applications such as general construction, infrastructure and bridge construction, placement of critical equipment on high-rise buildings, and power plant and petrochemical installations.
