TEREX CRANES TO SHOWCASE ITS LATEST PRODUCTS

AT VERTIKAL DAYS 2012, UK

Zweibrücken, June 12th, 2012 – Terex Cranes will be attending Vertikal Days 2012, to be held at Haydock Park Racecourse, Merseyside from 27 to 28 June on stand n°s 156 and 157.

As a specialist event with its core firmly targeted on lifting and access, Terex Cranes has again chosen Vertikal Days to highlight some of its most recent product developments.

Crane models on display will include the Terex® Challenger 3160 and Challenger 3180, AC140 Compact and AC 200-1P all terrain cranes.

Focusing on customer responsiveness, the company’s team of crane specialists will be on hand to discuss product specifications, Terex after-sales service and support, and the comprehensive range of services available from Terex Financial Services – all driven to help fulfill customers’ needs.

Visitors to the Terex stand will also have the opportunity to see and inspect the enormous scale model of a Terex® CC 8800 crawler crane - which stands more than 2 meters high - in advance of it being auctioned at the Vertikal Days networking event. The proceeds from the sale of the model will go to the Lighthouse Club charity.

About the Terex® Challenger 3160 all terrain crane

The powerful and compact Terex Challenger 3160 is currently the only three-axle crane with a 55-tonne lifting capacity designed with one-person operation in mind. With a 50-m single-cylinder telescopic boom and a maximum lifting capacity of 35.6 tonnes when working with a reach of four meters, the Terex Challenger 3160 can be operated independently by a single person while remaining under an axle load limit of 12 tonnes (for countries with a maximum axle load limit of 10 tonnes, the crane can set down its own counterweight, keeping the unit’s total service weight under 30 tonnes).

About the Terex® Challenger 3180 all terrain crane

With a 50-meter (164-ft) main boom combined with a 16-meter (52.5-ft) extension, the Challenger 3180 provides the longest system length in the 60-tonne (66.1 US-t) all terrain capacity class. This includes (optional) all-wheel steering with drive chain 6x6x6 and 495/95R25 tires.

Fully equipped, including its maximum 12.1-tonne (13.3 US-t) counterweight, the Challenger 3180 also provides the strongest system in the 60-t (66.1 US-t) capacity class, with maximum lifting capacity of 37.9 tonnes (41.7 US t) at 4 meter (13.1-ft) radius. In this configuration, it is still roadable and designed for one-man-operation in countries with 15-tonne(16.5 US-t) axle-load limitations.

About the Terex® AC140 Compact all terrain crane

The AC 140 Compact is the most compact crane in the 140-tonne (154.3 US-t) capacity class. Offering high performance in a wider range of applications than other comparable all terrain cranes, the AC 140 Compact is particularly well suited to lifting heavy loads in confined areas. Narrower than any other crane in its class, its 11.2-meter long (36.6-ft), 2.7-meter (9-ft) wide undercarriage, enables access to places other 5-axle cranes simply cannot go. Three outrigger settings (4.5 meters (14.7 ft); 5.3 meters (17.3 ft); 7 meters (22.9 ft)) combined with a maximum lifting capacity of 69.4 tonnes (76.5 US t) at 7-meter (22.9-ft) radius make it possible to access tight spaces and perform heavy tasks usually reserved to 160-tonne (176 US-t) capacity class cranes. Built to carry more counterweight within 12-tonne (13.2 US-t) axle load limitations than higher capacity class cranes, and only requiring one extra transport vehicle instead of two, the AC 140 Compact reduces transport costs to make it conveniently economical to operate.

About the Terex® AC 200-1(P) all terrrain crane

With a total length of 14.1 meters (46.1ft), the Terex® AC 200-1P all terrain crane is the shortest six-axle crane in the 200-tonne (220.5 US-t) capacity class (220 US tons). Its standard main boom reaches up to 67.8 meters (222.4ft), for a maximum reach of 100 meters (328 ft) when equipped with its main boom extension and variable extension. Four outrigger settings improve jobsite access while its state-of-the-art IC-1 control system with touchscreen color monitor, makes the AC200-1P particularly user-friendly to operate..

A 390 kW (530 hp) carrier engine provides a powerful and cost-effective drive mechanism and is complemented with an automatic 16-speed transmission that is designed to provide high performance and excellent gradeability while reaching speeds up to 85 km/h (53 mph). Its independent superstructure engine provides an output of 170 kW (228 hp).

Combining power with high maneuverability, four of the five axles (five of the six axles at AC 200-1P) are steering axles, to enable the AC200-1 to turn within a radius of 11.05 meters (36.25 ft).
