TWO NEW TereX® Chang Jiang TRUCK CRANES TO BE UNVEILED

AT BICES 2011, CHINA

Zweibruecken, October 12, 2011 – Terex Cranes will be exhibiting four cranes, highlighted by the unveiling of two totally new Terex® Chang Jiang truck crane models, at the Beijing International Construction Machinery Exhibition and Conference (BICES), from 18th to 21st October at the Beijing Jiuhua International Exhibition Center in Beijing, China, on booth n° S 118-130.

Now in its 22nd year, BICES is the longest-running construction machinery exhibition in China. Terex Cranes has chosen BICES 2011 to unveil the Terex® Chang Jiang Toplift 025G and Terex® Chang Jiang Toplift 055G – the first two of a totally new series of truck crane models, manufactured from the company’s facility in Luzhou, China.

The new models will be displayed alongside the Terex Powerlift 2000, a 70 ton ( 77 US ton) capacity crawler crane and the Terex AC 350/6, a 350 ton (400 US ton) capacity class all terrain unit.

Designed with extensive input from users, the new Terex Chang Jiang Toplift 025G and Terex Chang Jiang Toplift 055G, 25 and 55 tonne (27,5 and 60,5 US ton) capacity class cranes combine the reputed strength and lift performance of Changjiang truck cranes with the latest in Terex innovation and technology.

“The Chinese truck crane market is the largest in the world, and the 25-ton capacity class is the most popular choice among local crane operators. The new Terex Chang Jiang Toplift 025G addresses this segment by providing a completely new entry into the market with features not found on other cranes,” says Ken Lousberg, President, Terex China.

Designed with Chang Jiang’s heritage and the new technologies used throughout the Terex Cranes product portfolio, both the Terex Chang Jiang Toplift 025G and Terex Chang Jiang Toplift 055G incorporate completely new operator and driver cabs, new engine and transmission combinations and newly designed booms among other innovative features. Both new models comply with the latest Chinese National IV emission standards.

“As a direct result of feedback from crane operators and owners in China, these cranes are well-matched to local market needs,” says Ken Lousberg. “Our team is confident and excited about the prospects of the upcoming event.”

About the Terex® AC 350/6 all terrain crane

With a total length of just 16.7 meters (54.8 ft) , the AC 350/6 is the smallest and most compact 6-axle mobile crane in the 350-tonne (386 US ton) capacity class. Well-matched to an extraordinarily wide range of applications, it can be used as an alternative to medium and large 5-axle mobile cranes in the under 220-tonnes (242 US tons) capacity class with partial counterweight. In the 200 to 350-tonne range (220 – 386 US tons), it is currently by far the most powerful crane in its class as well as in terms of its main boom and different extensions. It can even perform tasks usually carried out by much larger 400-tonne (440 US ton) capacity class cranes. As an example, the AC 350/6’s extraordinary lifting capacity reaches the performance figures of a 400-tonne (440 US ton) class mobile crane with a telescoped boom length of approximately 60 meters (197 feet), and an impressive maximum system length of 125.7 meters (412.4 feet).

A compact chassis and speed-dependent rear axle steering enable the crane to work within a remarkably small turning radius. As the only 350-tonne class (386 US tons) all terrain crane with a front overhang of less than two meters (6.6 ft), the AC 350-6 can be operated without additional escort vehicles in many countries. Additional attachments can be loaded onto conventional trucks within a width of 2.55 m (8.4 ft).

Terex® Powerlift 2000 Lattice Boom Crawler Crane

Manufactured at the company’s facility in Jinan, China, the Terex Powerlift lattice boom crawler range includes five models offering simple assembly, short rigging times and excellent lifting capacity from 70 to 360 tonnes. The Terex® Powerlift 2000 offers lifting capacity across the full working range in the 70-tonne capacity class. Using its 12 to 54 meter main boom, maximum lifting capacity is 70 tonnes for 12-meter boom length at 3.8-meter radius. Fixed jib attachments of 12 and 18 meters in length, mounted on the main boom at 30, 33, 36, 39 or 42 meters are off-settable at 10 or 30 degrees, to reach a maximum boom length of 60 meters (42-meter main boom plus 18-meter fixed jib).

Equipped with load moment indicator, independent LCD monitor and powered by a 6-cylinder, 176 KW/2500 rpm engine, the Powerlift 2000 crawler crane is designed to perform heavy tasks reliably and accurately. Its spacious operator cab, including air-conditioning, heating and adjustable seat, provides operators the environment they need to stay focused on the job even in extreme conditions. Optional GPS and GSM remote diagnosis systems are available.
