TEREX CRANES WINS ORDER FOR 40 CRANES FROM EMPIRE CRANE AT CONEXPO
Las Vegas, March 25, 2011 – Terex Cranes has announced an order for 40 cranes from Empire Crane Company, for the retail value of over 20 million US$, signed this week at Conexpo.
Cranes included in this transaction are the new Terex® Roadmaster 9000 truck mounted crane, Terex® RT 100 and RT 130 rough terrain cranes as well as Terex® AC 350/6, AC 250-1, AC 100/4L all terrain cranes, among other models.
This new order highlights the success of a close partnership of nine years with Terex Cranes, which first began at ConExpo, Las Vegas in 2002, within months of the company’s founding by brothers Luke J. Lonergan, Vice President and Paul J. Lonergan, President, Empire Crane.
Impressed by the determination and potential of the new enthusiastic team, and convinced that there was something that a large company like Terex Cranes could do “to help them crack the door open”, it was Ron DeFeo, Chief Executive Officer of Terex Corporation, who first invited them to join the Terex Cranes distributor family.
Three shows and nine years later, the company has never looked back - not even during the industry lows of 2008 and 2009. Today, Empire Crane has successfully gained customers’ confidence for the provision of cranes, parts and service support throughout North East America. With three facilities across the region, Empire has become one of its largest crane distributors. The company won a Terex Cranes Sales Award in 2008 and 2009, and the company’s Parts Distributor Recognition Award in 2009.
