TEREX® AC 40/2 RECEIVES AWARD

ZWEIBRÜCKEN, June 15, 2010 – Terex Cranes has received an “Excellence in Equipment Engineering Award 2010” for its AC 40/2 All Terrain Crane in the category “Lift Equipment – Cranes”. The presentation took place during the Bauma exhibition on the booth of power train components manufacturer ZF, sponsor of the “Excellence In Equipment Engineering Awards 2010”, organized by the leading American construction magazine Diesel Progress. A survey sent to Diesel Progress readers captured feedback from 9000 readers. The results were tabulated and used to select the best machines in 13 different categories.

Mr François Truffier, General Manager Terex Cranes, France and Mr Jean-Francois Auvigue, Chief Engineer at the Terex Montceau-Les-Mines plant, France, received the award on behalf of Terex.

About the AC 40/2

The AC 40/2 and its sister model AC 40/2L are the latest models in a long lineage of 2-axle All-Terrain cranes produced by Terex in Montceau-Les-Mines, France. The compact, 2 axle, AC 40/2 evolved from this successful design and offers best-in-class boom length and strong capacity no matter the configuration. The AC 40 cranes offer 12% more load capacity on the main boom and 60% more on the extension compared to the previous version. The easy to operate counterweight unloading system makes it simple for users to equally load each axle.

The compact and powerful AC 40/2 is the bestseller of Montceau-Les-Mines plant and with over 1000 units sold since its introduction in June 2001, it is little wonder that the AC 40 has become the reference crane in its category.
